You can use DMVKids without telling us who you are. Signing in is optional, and it exists only to keep your saved events across devices and to send the reminders you ask for.

We use these only to send a reminder the day before an event you saved and a weekly roundup of family events. Turn notifications off from the account menu and we delete your device's notification address.
You can search in your own words ("free indoor things for a 3-year-old this weekend") and ask the app to build a day out. To understand what you asked for, we send the words you type, together with the event listings being considered, to Anthropic, the company behind Claude.
We do not send your name, your email address, your account or your saved events with it. Anthropic's API terms state that they do not use this to train their models. If you would rather not use it, ordinary browsing and filtering work without it.
"For You" picks are worked out from the events you have saved, and that comparison happens on our own server.
We keep a simple record of how DMVKids is used, so we know which counties to add next and whether anything is broken. It stays on our own server — there is no advertising network, no third-party analytics product and no tracking across other apps or websites.
What a record contains:
We do not record your name, your email address, your location coordinates or anything you have saved. If you delete your account, your account ID is removed from these records, leaving only anonymous counts. Records are kept for at most 12 months.
If you would rather not type a search into the app, every event remains reachable by browsing and filtering.
Our server receives ordinary web requests when the app loads event listings. Those requests include the county you are browsing and, like any web server, your IP address in the connection itself. We do not use this to build a profile of you.
Location is optional. You can pick a county instead and never share it, and you can withdraw permission at any time in your device settings.

"Add to Calendar" writes an event to your device's calendar only after you confirm it in Apple's own dialog. On iOS 17 and later the app requests write-only access, so it cannot read anything already in your calendar. Nothing about your calendar reaches us.
Account information and saved events are kept until you delete your account. To delete it, sign in, open the account menu and tap Delete account. That permanently removes your account, your saved events and your notification settings. You can also email us and we will delete it for you.
A device's notification address is deleted when you turn notifications off, or when Apple or your browser tells us it no longer works (for example after the app is removed). Guest data lives on your device and is removed when you delete the app.
Connections use HTTPS, sign-in is handled by a specialist provider rather than by us, and we never see or store your password. No service can promise perfect security, but we deliberately hold as little as possible — which is the best protection we can offer you.
DMVKids is currently run by an individual. If it is transferred to a company formed to operate it, or to another owner, account information would transfer with it and remain subject to this policy until you are told otherwise. You can always delete your account first.
DMVKids is for parents and guardians finding events for their children. Accounts are meant for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
